2021 Amg Glc 63 extended warranty and prepaid maintenance plan worth it?
Has anyone recently gotten a quote on an extended warranty plan or the prepaid maintenance on a 2021 Amg Glc 63? I was quoted 3/75 for $6300 warranty and prepaid maintenance 2 services for $1490, 3 for $2060, and 4 for $2850. I don't know how much sense the prepaid maintenance makes my local MB dealerships quoted me excluding tax service A for $260, service B for $400, and rear diff fluid change for $225. So in 4 years of maintenance $260 service A+$225 rear diff change +$400 service B+$260 service A+$400 service B=$1545

I just picked up a 2020 GLC63 last week and was quoted $1,895 for 3-year prepaid maintenance. Based on rough estimates of service costs it's not worth it, as you mentioned.
I even joked with the dealer when I was signing that the prepaid maintenance didn't make much sense and they agreed.

Agreed that prepaid maintenance is not worth it, also extended warranty is not worth it as 2021 is the last year model for the glc, they have worked out majority of problems in this model so the risk of anything major defect is very low.

Those prepaid prices sound really steep. Depending on how long you're planning on keeping it would determine if you want/need an extended warranty. I have seen many posts from other members stating the extended warranty can be purchased from ANY MB dealer.......many have different prices; for less that you were quoted so I'd certainly shop around, maybe try a search on our forum too, GL

Oil change = $180 +tax (x4) = $720
A-service x2 = $580 $1,160
B-service X2 = $1,078 $2,156
Oil change once a year or 10,000 miles
A -Service 1st year or 10,000 miles / B- service 2nd year 20,000 miles / A - Service again at 3rd year or 30,000 / B - service again 4th year or 40,000 miles.
Buying Maintenance upfront for 4 years = $3,250.
Cost of Maintenance (pay as you go) = $4,036
I would just sell/trade-in after the manufacturer's warranty expires at 4 years.

Yeah, that pricing seems pretty steep. I always skip that stuff anyway, unless the dealer wants to cut the prices almost in half...they don't quite like that offer. Ha. I believe there is a thread over on the regular GLC forum (or maybe General Forum) where people post quotes and dealers that offer pretty awesome deals on Warranty/PrePaid Maintenance, so you may want to check there, if really interested.

My nextdoor neighbor owns his own shop and charged me $256 for my "A" service. He swears he charged me his normal rate since I insisted on it. He has a tendency to want to do everything for free, for us, so I told him I would not let him maintain our cars unless he charges his full price.
