Bang for buck exhaust options for glc63s coupe?
I would've been fine with the amg performance exhaust, but to get it you need the premium package just to get the amg drivers package (exhaust) for about $10000 (CDN).
I assume straight pipe is "please impound my car" level and quality of noise?
I've been looking at cpo and need almost 0 of the options. The CPOs with their 20-25k in options are going for the same price as a base msrp glc63s coupe so if there's a way to get a good exhaust without shelling out almost 10k, then I could justify not getting any options and just buying new. Or if performance exhaust isn't loud enough for me, then i shouldn't bother spending money on it if i'm just going to swap it out.
For level of noise i'm comfortable with, my last car 2015 mustang gt had roush axle back exhaust and res delete (replaced with H pipe).
I'm not sure if cat delete is an option since we have many cars getting impounded for noise mods, and cops smelling no cats would attract too much attention.
inb4 "amg and bang for buck don't belong in same thread" - 10k for an exhaust seems absurd but can't find any others on google. i get AMG tax but damn.
Is res delete a significant change in volume? I couldn't find pictures of undercarriage/exhaust of stock glc63s. Where is the resonator?
And lastly, what is the difference between the performance exhaust and stock exhaust? Are the pops/crackles the same but the volume is simply louder on performance exhaust and more control? But I also read you can have almost as much control since the flaps will be open (non perf exhaust) when in sport or sport +?

The problem is I think from what I've read, even flaps always open mod on a non performance exhaust will be pretty quiet, compared to a real exhaust mod. Especially if you're saying a glc63 is more quiet than a c63. Do you happen to know if the non performance exhaust has the pops/crackles?

And both stock and PE exhaust option have an h pipe with a flap in the middle apparently? Does anyone have more info on that flap? Cause I believe it's not manually controllable at all regardless of option?

1) Do I need heat shield? Vancouver, BC. Won't be tracked.
2) What kind of cats to get? I don't want catless due to smell and warranty issues. Might tune it in future though? Don't understand the numbers.
3) Is this something a reputable exhaust shop could do for a lot cheaper?
