Has anyone ever had an issue with TR's Road Hazzard insurance? I had a sidewall" hernia", which is almost 100% caused by impacts such as a pothole. I called TR and they told me it was covered and had me submit a claim. They said it takes about 5 days to get your reimbursement after you purchase the replacement tire and show proof. After 18 days of their portal showing no movement besides "Assigned" and 3 unreturned emails, I finally called them.
They stated that something seemed wrong and had trouble finding my claim. They put me on hold and came back 10 minutes later and said my claim was denied because in the comment section, where they asked me to describe the damage, I wrote that the 'tires had sidewall damage-maybe a factory defect'. They claim since it is a factory defect now, it isn't covered. I reminded them that I am not the tire expert so my comments mean nothing but they are still denying the claim. A Manager was supposed to call me back in 24 hours but I haven't heard anything.
I purchase a lot of tires for an individual and I like the cost savings of using TR but the Road Hazzard has left a really bad taste in my mouth.
