AMG GLC 63 to stiff?

Is the AMG GLC 63 to stiff? If I get one I'll probably have to source 18" wheels to get more tire, and try to make it more comfortable/ compliant. I'm ok with some stiffness, but my wife gets motion sickness, and would like it to be more comfortable for her when she's in it or like date night. The car is for me though.

I can't specifically comment on the GLC63. You'll really have to test drive it for yourself as ride quality can be very subjective. However, I have a '19 C63S coupe and my wife tends to get car sick as well, but she hasn't gotten sick in the C63 so far. Motion sickness occurs if the eyes see something different than the inner ear experiences, so that generally occurs more with cars that are floaty and bobble around over every bump instead of settling quickly. My C63 is comfortably firm as I would call it, but the highlight is the damping. I can feel every bump, but the car doesn't bounce around or sway and what not. After the bump there's basically one up and down motion and the car is settled. So there is a lot less body motion that could make somebody sick. The GLC has a high center of gravity as every SUV has, but like the C63 the damping is adaptive and adjusts continuously to keep body motions in check. I've only driven the GLC 300 and that was horrible. That thing swayed like a sailboat in the wind, and even I almost got seasick.

I understand what you're saying. I have other cars that are lower and stiffer that she doesn't like at all. She actually likes the boaty vehicles and the taller ride height.

2020 glc63s coupe. 2021 mach e awd. 2016 camaro 2ss.
I just got a glc63s coupe with the 21'' wheels so 35 aspect ratio. It's surprisingly rough but i guess to be expected from that aspect ratio. Should be moderately better with 18s. I wonder if the 63 just has way harder suspension than the non amg.

18 inch wheel don't fit because of brake size .
Minimum is 19 inch

I've had my 2021 Amg GLC 63 since the end of December 2020. I have the standard 20's running on swapped out all season pirelli scorpion zeros because I'm in the Midwest with snow. I daily drove during the warmer months a 2015 BMW M4 on summer 19 inch michelin pilot super sport tires which I still own. The ride even in comfort mode on rough roads in the city is harsh in the GLC 63 but on the highway isn't to bad when the pavement is smooth or even. In the sports plus mode it's as harsh as my M4 and can get back breaking stiff even with the standard amg seats. I love the GLC 63 the exhaust sound is intoxicating and the power delivery is blistering quick even in auto mode. I always now find my self driving out of the way an extra 10 to 20 miles in the GLC 63 when I do daily trips to the store now just for the sound and handling. Looks like the biturbo v8 is going away in the newer amg c class so I would definitely recommend getting one now before the engine is downsized to the hybrid/electrical 4 cylinder.

AMG GLC 63s Coupe
For the most comfortable ride, I would get a GLE 63s. Mine was the best road trip car I have ever had and still tons of power.

I like my GLC 63s way better but it is tuned and lowered and it is a street beast which is what I am looking for. It is stiff as a board, rides rough and eats tires for breakfast. I love it.

I have the 21's on mine. Honestly I don't think I could ever go smaller after having it for a couple months. The body style needs aggressive looking wheels to compliment the look IMO. But you'll be happy either way.

(my wife has never said it was too stiff) Yeah, talking about the car you dirty *******!

well do you think it's stiff? Maybe not to stiff, but stiff? My MB dealer doesn't even have a glc 63 or 43 to test drive.

Its stiff, but not as bad as an X3M or X4M, those ride horribly.

Stiff, yes.
Harsh, no.

Mind you I live in a city where the roads are mostly well kept so I have zero complaints.

Huge +1 to this. The X3M is hard, competition variant is really hard - both have quite a lot of turbo lag . I'd say the X3 M40i on 21" wheels is comparable to the GLC 63 on 21s, with the GLC having less cabin noise from potholes.
