Newbie and AMG Merc Novice

Greetings All. I am contemplating picking up an 18 or 19 AMG GLC 63 and live in KC. Winters are very weird here with snow, ice or none of the above at any given point...but cold nonetheless. Most of what I am finding come with 21's Summer Specific. My question on the Winter Tire front, and I can imagine it's played to death so I thank you all in advance for your guidance, can I run 20's for a winter set up on a car that comes with Summer 21's? Again, thank you all in advance.

Thank you @Ruderegime . Another questions. The infotainment system. Many have the touchpad, a number of them don't with just the dial present. Is the touchpad a "must have" or is the dial enough to navigate around the entertainment system. Is it a twist and click the dial type of set up without the touchpad?

In MB's, the touchpad acts like a mouse and the wheel is twist/click like you mentioned. My wife had an 18 with the wheel setup and my 2020 has a touchpad and I much prefer the touchpad. But the Infotainment/MBUX is way different between the 18s and 20s as well, so that might be driving my feedback.

Re: Snow tires, you can run 19's or 20's with no problems generally. I've not switched from 21's to 20's when the seasons changed, so I am not sure if the car needs to be reset to account for the different wheel/tire sizes. I found that the car is very sensitive to it as I was running a non-stock aspect ratio in the rear with a set of snow tires and it caused the traction control to go off at 75%+ throttle, regardless of condition. Switched back to stock sidewall height and problem solved. I run 21's in summer (PS4S) and 21's in winter (Winter Scorpion). We had our last snow here hopefully (it snowed last week but is 80 today) so the summer wheels/tires go on here in the next few days.

Cheers @kennys2003 I am a bit nervous buying it long distance most likely and not being a "Merc Head" I have had the highest performance Volvos you can get and I know this is a step up to the big leagues lol. I have never had a single majore issue with any of my Volvos and am hoping to have the same luck here. There is one I am on in Louisiana that has the black out package and 20 inch all seasons. Will the car perform up to snuff on All Seasons? I know there will be those that say run dedicated seasonal tires but this beauty isn't set up that way.

All Seasons are not great at anything but you may can get away with it depending on what you are looking for. One of the guys in my Club has run his best numbers on AS and he is tuned and really fast so it's possible on that end of the spectrum. On the winter end, I have no idea as I am in Texas and if it is below 35-40, may car just stays in the heated garage.

If you don't get alot of snow, All Seasons would be an ok compromise for daily driving. You'd give up some performance, but it seems fairly common that people switch to AS instead of running a winter and/or summer setup. The AS tires might give you a better ride as well. But if you are going to track/drag or race in mexico, i wouldn't run the AS.

All Season tires don't compare to a good summer tire. As a PCA instructor and more than 10 years of tracking cars and instructing, tire choice is a major factor on cornering and braking.
It doesn't cost much for a new set of wheels for the winter ($1,000). If you plan to drive in a safe but sometimes aggressive way in the summer, get a second set of wheels and snow tires for the winter. You will be much safer in both seasons. There is also no comparison between AS and snow tires.

The first thing I turned off on my car was the touchpad.
It was very sensitive and I switched it on accidentally.
Not cool.
