AC Musty/mildew smell upon start

Hello,

My 3 year old GLC43 has developed a musty smell upon AC startup - happens every time and it only started this summer.

Is this a common problem (I have used the search function in this forum and did not find much about a GLC specific issue)? I saw in other models' forums there are some issues that are re-occurring due to a design issue which keeps moisture inside the evaporator unit?

Would this be covered under warranty?

Yes the car has generally had maintenance according to the schedule... Over 3.5 years the cabin filters (I think there are 2?) have been replaced 3 times.

Last replacement happened this past January and the musty smell came on in late spring when we started to use the AC.

I have seen a few people complain about it and it seems to be an AC drainage issue. Mine has it but the easy fix is to click off the AC a mile before home and it will no long smell bad.
