Wheel color curb rash fix?
I have the 21" AMG wheels on my GLC43 (see attached pic) and got some curb rashes over the last year. This is only over the silver part -- I thought that was a machined raw aluminum but I'm not sure if that is the case and also if it's clear-coated over.
If so, is there anyway to DIY repair it until the wheels would get refinished in the future? If not machined what is the color or finish on the edge/silver perimeter?
Thank you!
I just use 3 different stages of sandpaper and it cleans up the curb rash pretty well.

Also do you use a rotary sander for this or do by hand? The results look great.
Lastly I think the whole wheel is clear-coated so I wonder if it makes sense to mask off the tire and part of the black and then clear coat the perimeter only, feathering it in towards the black?
Thanks again
