Warning about low front tire pressure? 39psi...

Is the threshold really minimum 40? I'm surprised it's lighting up my dash even at 39. Front tires.

2020 glc63s coupe, canada.

Have had it for 6 months, bought new. 6000kms driven. Is that actually low?

Check the tire pressure located on the fuel door cap and see if you can find the minimal load front tire pressure appropriate for the size of your tires.

The one at the gas cap says 35 front , 31 rear, when not filled with passengers.

The one by driver's side door says 42 front, 41 back but cold.

I have the stock 21s. 265/40/21 front.
295/35/21 rear

The warning is based on a variance. I don't remember the exact number but it is a certain increase or decrease from what you have set as the stored pressure.

You can store whatever pressure you want and that will be the "normal" pressure. For example, when I go "hunting", I lower my pressures to 25 psi or less and store that as my new pressure. The warning will not show unless it surpasses the variance.

The pressure you should use is the one in the gas filler panel. I run my pressures at 33/31 as that is where my car works the best.

I’ve been trying to find the right running pressures for the last 2 weeks.
tried 41/40 (driver door) way too stiff of a ride
checked the gas cap and it said 32/30 with 2 passengers and 39/39 with 5
i’ve been running 35/34 cold and it works pretty well. It does go up to 38 39 when hot.

use a digital tire inflator and play with a setting that you like. Use the left steering wheel controls to reset to your new values and then decide what you like.

36 to 38psi cold seems a good setting. If you drive to air station, add 3-4psi for heat to get to cold setting when it rests overnight.
The gas door on fuel tank is the correct settings, no idea why they put one on the body.
One you have done this, reset your alert for high and low pressure warning for TPMS.
Assume you are running run flats which are stiffer and a bit harsher.
you can set front and rear the same or allow 2psi difference.
higher pressures give better braking, better handling , etc. It improves wear and minimises outer and inner edge wear.
