Very jerky in 1st gear and/or shifting to 2nd gear. 2020glc63s canada. comfort mode

Seen this topic a couple times here from searching with varying results from various fixes at the dealer. Car lurches/jerks usually when shifting or about to shift to 2nd. Auto mode, not paddle shifters.

I'm scheduled to take it in next week but hoping there is some new info on this?

Notes
  • I notice it most in comfort mode, or maybe that's just the mode we use the most. will play around more
  • I believe it persists even when warmed up but will try again
  • Happens regardless of outside temp
  • Happens regardless of driver or driving style
    • both gf and i drive it and it's pretty annoying and very noticeable
  • sometimes being SUPER gentle on the throttle stops it from happening
Dealer actually hasn't heard of this. Is it only the glc or does this persist for all of the A9 transmissions? Car has 8000km but has had this issue for quite a while. Was broken in properly. No service/oil change yet.

GLK, GLC63S (incoming)
Mine does the same thing too. I just assume it is due to it being a high performance car transmission.

Yeah that's 1/3rd of the answers. The other 1/3 is dealer did a flash update or some fluid change or something and it worked. And the other 1/3 is it didn't work.

All I know is at least 2/3 are wrong...

And everyone seems so sure they're right. Driving me nuts.

It's the nature of the MCT gearbox. Instead of a torque converter, like conventional automatics, it possesses a “clutch pack,” which includes multiple clutches placed together and controlled separately. It is easily differentiated from dual-clutch automatics because it has a single input shaft

Mine is a 2018 and it is somewhat jerky in 1st to 2nd but nothing so bad as to make a thread on it…yet👍 It DOES however get ridiculously jerky if I’m in 1st and I drive over a bump, then it is more like rabbit hopping down the road he he he. Have to very quickly foot off the pedal before my wife gets propelled from the front seat.

I noticed its super jerky when the auto start/stop is engaged especially from a stop when it has to turn back on and get into gear. So first thing I always do when driving it is to turn that **** off and it helps a lot.

I would ask for an adaptation reset of the transmission and throttle to see if that fixes the rough shifts. It'll take a week of driving for the system to learn your driving style again.
