This GLC is a magnet for big rock hits that morph into large cracks. I have to wonder about the strength of the windshield glass. Prior to last year, I hadn't had a windshield replaced in over 15 years. My 17 yr old CLK55 has never had its windshield replaced, and that has 105K miles (often high speed).

Btw, waited 3 weeks for the OEM glass to makes its way here from California. I'm having it replaced at the dealer, though I originally tried Safelite (through Allstate); they originally received cheap aftermarket glass that they rejected, then they received OEM glass after a couple weeks, but it had some unrepairable scratches. I gave up and went back to the dealer.

My 63s has a small chip in it after 80,000ks and I’m not sure when or where that occurred, so far it’s been OK but I’d assume any small rock hits that spot in just the right way and I’d be in your shoes mate. Sorry to hear that you’ve been through 2 of them. It’s not a cheap pet to replace if it’s not a warranty repair.

Thankfully it was covered both times by Allstate auto insurance - with supposedly no impact (no pun intended) to my insurance standing/rate.
