2020 GLC43 AMG

sitting in park in the driveway, vehicle running, I hit the gas peddle, and can’t get it to go past 4500rpm, is this normal, I push the pedal fully down, or feather it to fully down, it will not go past the 4500rpm mark.

not sure why the engine will not go past this rpm, while in park

it does go higher while driving, and I want it get up and go, she will up the Rpm’s

thanks

.

Yes it is called the soft limiter, it is on newer MBs because of regulations (well that is part of the story, every German brand is doing that now except I think I heard Porsche has a secret menu that you can disable it).

I forgot to mention some cars even limit it to 3K so enjoy it while you can.

It certainly is, that is why we should enjoy it while we can until regulations takes away our ICE.
