GLC63 vs GLE450

Looking for a used one, SUV, they are similiar price range. Heart beats for the 63, rationally one would choose a bigger and probably less thirsty GLE450. So far I have a GLK, no space issues apart when travelling 3 adults and fully packed for holidays.

It needs to be a daily driver, small family, small dog. Sometimes a mountain bike, paddle board, skis. I was thinking of getting a roofbox, rack for these anyway as such things make the interior dirty.

Any thoughts and tips appreciated. Which one should I go for and why the GLC63? Thnx.

They are as different as chalk and cheese. They have the similarities of 4 rubber tires and a steering wheel.

GLC63: drinking problem, eats tires and brakes like all AMGs, scrubbing problem on front suspension from Ackermann geometry (MB design defect). And fun.

GLE450: family truckster. Caveat emptor on the EQ Boost hybrid technology.

Do you have kids at home? Do you take vacations on the road?

Kid is planned. Vacations yes now and then. I sat/drove in previous generations of ML. Spacewise it feels on a different level. But then - what if this is last time to enjoy V8 and little angry GLC )

I have the 63s Coupe - I like it, the engine sounds angry all the time and it's like the cool dad car. I'd get the V8 if you're fine with the smaller size of the GLC and don't have an issue with gas prices.

I actually own both, my car is GLC 63s Coupe and wifes car is the GLE450.

My previous car was GLE43 Coupe.. I love the GLC63 and the power, dont really have any issues with size or daily driver ride quality for just me. But GLE450 wins with family in tow, no question to me. Both in space and ride, its got plenty of power too.

If you really wanted a V8 maybe go for the GLE580? or the GLE53 coupe/suv could be a decent compromise.

Also, with kids planned..car seats are a crunch in the GLC63 Coupe, its doable but for me i'm 90% the only person in my car.

If you can afford to buy a family SUV when the kids show up then get the GLC63. I have the GLC63 and the wife is driving 2014 ML63. GLC 63 is the fun to drive one but the ML63 is the road trip winner. I would not go on a road trip over 300 miles with the GLC no matter how much fun is to drive and I have stage 2 tune installed. Also the trunk is just way to small for a family trip.
