Hi all - can anyone tell me where to find the MAF sensors on a 2018 GLC 43 and are they difficult to remove to clean. Using a bit more fuel than normal and thought that would be a good place to start, but they don’t seem to be too obvious.

Remove the engine cover/s and on the back of the engine where the intake runner goes into the intake, you'll see the sensor in the "round" intake track pipe-

With a bit more fuel consumption than "normal" that's not where I'd start. Check tire pressures. And really how one drives a vehicle plays a big role in its fuel consumption.

Could be fuel consumption is up because there is more traffic now. With COVID traffic was reduced.

With a bad MAF -- at least this is my experience -- the CEL will come on and the error code will point to the MAF.

If you clean the MAF handle with care. A time or two I cleaned a MAF I did so over a clean paper towel. There was no sign of any grime or dirt or anything. The MAF and its working surface was clean. If the MAF is dirty the problem is how it got dirty, not that it was dirty.

I see you have a 2018. Probably has some miles on it. You might consider at least checking the engine air filter maybe even replacing it. I had a 2018 (Hellcat) that I drove to 27.5K miles. Had the car in for an oil/filter service and asked the engine air filter and cabin air filter be replaced. SA brought both old filters out to me. Both were quite dirty. (Later I checked the scheduled maintenance and the engine air filter should have been changed at 20K miles...)

After the new engine air filter the Hellcat engine showed some noticeable improvement. I didn't check gas mileage after -- it always sucked at around 15mpg -- but I could believe there was some improvement.
