Poor SiriusXM Reception - Ideas?

Hi All. My girlfriend has a Kia, and her SiriusXM never drops, except maybe in a long tunnel. But my GLC 43 will randomly drop even on an open road on a sunny day. Anyone else having this problem? And more importantly, can you boost the antenna to get more reliable reception? I don't know much about how this stuff works, so I'd love some suggestions.

I do have the same problem. SiriusXM randomly cuts out. Just started a while ago. I'm in the North/East.

Mine will drop when I am under heavy cover sometimes. If you look at your girlfriends Kia, she has an external antenna on the back of the roof, ours are hidden in the rear hatch pillar(on the SUV anyway) and I am willing to bet you there is some signal loss/sensitivity to a hidden antenna versus one sticking up in the air with no other material around it-Funny thing, my GF has a freaking KIA TOO! too funny

Mercedes is one of the few car manufacturers that manages to integrate all the antennas into the body work, so no ugly shark fin on the roof or other antenna sticking out somewhere. I have not experienced any issue with that. Different car, though, but back when I still subscribed to SiriusXM I experienced no difference in reception in my C63S compared to my previous cars that had shark fins on the roof. Your car may have a specific issue with the antenna connection. That happens occasionally.
