GLC43 AMG Coupe // Highly Modded Build Thread

  • WHAT // 2018 GLC43 AMG Coupe
  • COLOR // Black Exterior & Red Leather Interior
  • ABOUT // Long time lurker (since 2012 haha) and finally decided to get a Mercedes daily driver. The GLC AMG Coupe is so rare I still haven't seen another on the road yet, it gets great gas mileage, its plenty fast, and practical. Everything I touch I need to mod and this was no exception. Once its lowered, most people are utterly confused what it is and it starts way more conversations than my current other cars (porsche, mclaren or aston). Enjoy the build thread!

1. Stock Profile // First day of owning this vehicle I needed to document how pedestrian it looks unmodded.

2. Stock Rear // The rear needs a lot of work, its a slight improvement over the GLC300 but definitely needed more aggression.

3. Grille // The next mod was the iconic Panamericana grille from the GLC 63S. I opted to keep the slats chrome as it ties in the chrome accents on the door handles, headlights, etc. I was torn whether to get the blacked out version or the chrome but was happy with my purchase. This was a very quick mod. Maybe 10 minutes with the removal and 10 minutes with the install.

4. Carbon Slats // The front needed some pops of carbon so the first was these carbon air curtain slats.

5. More Carbon // The front still looked too pedestrian compared to the 63S so I opted for the carbon air curtain surrounds, and the front lip made a huge huge difference. Its now perfect.

6. Better angle of the new mods

7. Forged Monobloks // I'm the founder of RYFT (@ryft.co on instagram) and I designed these wheels specifically for SUV's and was so excited to add these to my daily driver. R[MESH]v1: Front Wheels - 21x9.5 +21mm Rear Wheels - 21x10.5 +15mm Bolt Pattern is 5x112 Flush Fitment Recommended tire size is 265/40/21 in the front and 295/35/21 in the rear

8. Running Boards // I love the look of the AMG running boards so I added those and the forged monobloks turned out amazing on the GLC. Now it just needs some low.

9. Get Low Profile // The biggest transformation by far are the lowering modules. I can't remember off the top of my head the exact mm I set it at but its really easy to just dial it in.

10. Get Low Rear // I also added the OEM 63S front fender extensions to fit my aggressive wheel/tire combo

11. 2020 Tails // Another huge modernizing modification is the 2020+ tail lights. Its honestly one of my favorite mods on my GLC. The new LED motif looks so much newer than the 2018 version. I took it a step fruther by blacking out the chrome 'eyebrows' at the top, and tinting the reverse LED clear area at the bottom.

12. Comparison Rear // You can see the difference of the 2020+ on the outers vs the stock 2018 inners.

13. Comparison Close Up // The deep red lenses are OEM in finish and I didn't do anything to them. It really gives it a much more stealthy look as opposed to the jarring bright red 2018 tails.

14. Fully Installed // Its absolutely menacing now and the addition of the 63S carbon spoiler, and the new diffuser finishes the rear off perfectly.

15. GLC69 // I know I'm going to get some hate for making a 69 joke. I find it amusing and I've seen so many people behind me taking pictures of the badge and lol'ing. I actually usually opt on de-badging my cars (removed the "Turbo" emblem off my Porsche, M3 off my BMW, etc.)

16. Completed Rear // A day time shot of the finished rear end along with another project I was working on next to it

17. Brother from Another Mother // Stumbled on a wagon version and just had to park next to him. It's a great comparison of the stock wagon vs a highly modded coupe. It looks like an entirely different vehicle.

Love it! Did almost the same to mine (except didn't do the newer tail lights). Agree they look better with the 2018 body. I also did the 63S bumper vs the 63. Curious why you didn't do the S? Here's my build thread. Vehicle is for sale now.

That would be the GLC43 SUV! Not a wagon-

Looks good. I personally dont like all the exterior red accents, but I get that they tie together nicely, especially with the red interior.

And you guessed right, the badge is the only thing that I'd say you should remove :P But at least you're doing it comedically and not just upbadging to a 63.

Excellent stuff. Out of curiosity where did you get your rear lights from? Are they OEM or aftermarket?
