Eco start/stop in Sport+ GLC63S

I thought eco start/stop would be off in Sport+ but I notice that the green "A" light stays on. Is this normal?

Yes, the green light stays on, but it won't actually stop the engine in Sport+. The green light indicates whether the Start/Stop system itself is on or off, so that you know if you change back to Comfort that the engine will stop again. I turn mine off shortly after starting the car and then the light is off to confirm that I turned it off, so I know it's off regardless of the current drive mode.

That's interesting! I thought it was malfunctioning because I'm pretty sure the light went off when I switch to Sport/Sport+ in my C w205.

Was your C an AMG, too, or a regular model? It works differently in the regular models. There the light turns off and if you go back to C it turns back on every time, even if you manually turned it off. In AMGs once you turn it off, it stays off and you can change drive modes back and forward it will not come back on. It will only come back on if you stop the engine and restart it. Basically in AMGs it's independent of the drive mode and it remembers the setting for the current drive session, whereas in the regular models it's tied to the drive mode and annoyingly turns back on every time you go back to Comfort mode. In AMGs it stays off if you go back to Comfort mode and have previously turned it off.

That explains it. It was non-AMG. Good to know my vehicle isn't faulty.

For what it's worth, I didn't like that the Start/Stop mode didn't remember the last setting, and would always be turned ON when you start the car. Some people don't mind turning it off every time they drive, but I sure did. So I contacted Vlad, and for a bit of money he sent me an ODBII plug that makes Start/Stop remember that I turned it OFF, and I've never turned it on since. It was totally worth the money. Vlad is well known around here, and does good work. Email him at canfiltermb@gmail.com if you're interested.

(BTW, he was also able to turn on the Multi-beam headlight function on my 2020 43. I think newer ones have it enabled by the factory now, not sure.)
