I know that I shouldn't be all that concerned with MPG, but I feel like the 2021 GLC63 is a lot thirstier than my 2019 M5 with V8TT. I'm getting around 16 MPG with city driving in C... is that what others are seeing?

Perhaps it is the smaller tank that has me thinking about the gas more? Ours is what, around 17 gallons? My M5 was 21.

Sounds about right in the city. I averaged around 20-21 straight highway.

I am getting around 15-17mpg around city depending on tempeture and on the highways anywhere between 24-30mpg very depending on speed and temp as well, not sure if the coupe version makes any aero difference but they sure do well on highway speeds.

GLC 63S
Hi all - I just picked up a 2018 GLC 63s. While I have no issues with the petrol costs especially when I’m going for more spirited driving, but I’ve been surprised that I’m getting around 12 mpg (~19 litres per 100km) on comfort, going very easy on the gas, keeping the revs very low, literally not going above 1800rpm, not turning opening the flaps on the performance exhaust as well as enabling the stop/start function..

Is this an indication that there could potentially be some issue somewhere?

Would be great to hear people’s experience with on their relative high fuel consumption especially when they’re going easy on the throttle and revs.

I have noted when I literally start up the car the mpg usually starts at 8 mpg but will work it’s way up once it gets moving - not sure if that’s normal

Don’t get me wrong on the above, I am aware of the car I have bought and with it being a thirsty car but the above is just a bit surprising and more importantly I want to make there’s no issue the used car I have bought.

To me as a bystander (I have a 2022 AMG 43 SUV, a 6-cyl. Bourbon), your mileage is NOT normal. I get 22.5 mpg driving around on our max. 35-40 mph roads, and 26-27 on highways.

The diff is just too large to be reasonable; maybe a visit to a good shop would be in order?
