Diff fault
I need some opinions and mechanical expertise here. Our 2019 GLC43 had a whir, whir, whir, noise from the rear diff at slow speeds. It was under warranty and the MB dealership said they would change the diff oil to see if that would help. They did and the noise has disappeared - BUT - I am now thinking that it probably had no or little oil in the diff when we bought it. I am worried that this situation could have damaged the diff and shortened it life. I vehicle is out of warranty soon and it is a 10k bill to replace the rear diff. Any one else had diff issues?

Having the vehicle initially in for repair while under factory warranty will mean even if you laps out of factory warranty a little bit, you have a case for it to be covered under warranty still, I wouldn't push things longer than a couple months however.

Thanks for that - I will get Mercedes-Benz New Zealand to add what I have said about the diff to the notes on our vehicle. The dealership did not tell me that there was no diff oil, they just said that they changed it for a different type, which I think is BS.

Hi - they did not tell me there was no oil in the diff, just said they were changing ii, which I think was BS. Noises at anywhere up to 60klms/hr (40mph)
