Question When does air suspension start to fail on GLC43?

Looking to buy a 2019 GLC43 Coupé. US$ 33,000 (before tax) with 31,000 miles on it, 1 previous owner, no accidents. Independent dealer.

Pending a pre-purchase inspection, I'm thinking the 3rd-party warranty from the dealer is a waste of money on what is a relatively low mileage vehicle, but my bigger concern is the air suspension. Reading online, it seems redoing all 4 air struts comes out to about $8-10k.

How often does air suspension fail? Around what mileage does it really become an issue?

Great question. Mine is at about 76.5k and it seems to still be going well.

It certainly depends on driving habits, if mostly freeway driving, it will hold up better than lets say if you drive in pothole city in bumper-to-bumper traffic everyday.

Other factors include, tire pressure, amount of weight in the vehicle (carrying cargo? full load of people all the time?), alignment, size of the tires and the weight of the wheels. There are also environmental factors: humidistat, was the vehicle from the salt belt (corrosion weakening the components)?
