The absence of an automatic slowdown and stop function in the Distronic DA2 package in my 2022 AMG GLC 43 SUV has puzzled me for 2 years now. All the other functions, such as the adaptive cruise control, the auto speed adjustment according to the posted speed limit and the lane following work very well, but this obvious safety feature is not included. Why would M-B not implement it--are there any technical reasons, such as imperfect traffic light color discrimination, or legal (liability etc.) that might be the reason? Are you aware of any other M-B and AMG models that actually implement this critical safety feature?

I posed this question to an M-B technical rep, but she could not find any mention of this issue in her tech support database.
