Thinking about getting my car tuned but don't want it to blow up right after (joking). For those with tunes, how much have you driven since the tune and how have your cars been holding up?

Had AMR tune in my last 2021 GLC63s from about 6-7 months into ownership and moved on from the car earlier this year.
No issues with the tune or the car since the tune was on. Every so often, would get a random warning code - used a reader, nothing major, cleared it and continued operating just fine.

Had a Varidian tune on the C43 and then removed it from that to the GLC43. Been installed now on the GLC for 12 months with no issues. Was on the C43 for 3 years with no issues. Made a huge difference to the performance of the car. Also had it on my ML500 with no issues. Haven’t done the 63 as it already has the performance package from factory. Its a euro tuning company that does it.

Only issue i had is a vibration after the car went stage 2. Not from the tune but a driveshaft issue. Tune has never been an issue.

I had read about state 1 tunes for the M276 and M278 engines and while there was nothing definitive, there was some concern on some of the sites I was reading up on this about tunes contributing to cylinder scoring. I suspect though, along with many others on the groups I was reading, that if you perform the oil pressure mod on the vehicle, the cylinder scoring issue can be mitigated. Unfortunately, most of this is conjecture, but many people have expressed concern that tunes, especially state 2 tunes can contribute to cylinder scoring since the oil pressure at low RPMs doesn't oil the underside of the pistons. This is why the recommendation of locking the oil pressure switch to high pressure all the time (engine RPM under 3,500 your oil pressure is set to low pressure. High pressure only turns on at RPMs above 3,500). At least that's what I've read...and it's making me hesitate getting a tune on my GLC43.
