I'm out and about but I think two packages had required selections that I could automatically add the required normally by hitting change selection. One or two earlier noted the requirement but I had to make the selection. Going from memory.

trim
Well, I went with my husband to test drive a 450 today that someone gave permission to drive, not a demo. The natural walnut trim looked a lot better on this one, but it could be that it looked better with the macchiato in leather, whereas the car I saw yesterday was in the brown mb tex. This order came in a week ago; I was surprised someone got theirs so early.

They told you a customers GLE 450 was delivered a week ago and allowed you to drive it? I'm suspicious about their claim (not yours). It sounds like another demo unit to me. I know my dealership would never allow anyone to drive a pre-sold car waiting for the customer to pick it up. Any chance they were blowing a little smoke your way? I ordered the first day the order bank opened and my order hasn't moved in weeks. Still scheduled to be completed by March 15 which means I likely wouldn't see it until the end of March, beginning of April. But anythings possible I guess.

The 450 I test drove was Polar White with a Macchiato MB-Tex interior but with a dark trim (not Walnut). It's a very nice looking interior color. Our GLE 450 was ordered with Espresso Brown Leather, my wife's choice. If I don't like it, I'll order another and just have to wait. Hope I like it.

There could be cars being delivered that were preconfigured for dealer inventory??? There should be the Demo block, then the preconfigured ones, followed by custom orders and dealer orders if it’s the way I understood it. Maybe it’s because there is so much insight about this release but to me the whole process seems pretty unorganized from what I expected.

It is possible they preconfigured it with her in mind, and it went in as demo. I don't know how that works. But, demos didn't much seem to be at any dealership with leather.

The demo they had was basic, with mb tex, but with the technology to see. At every dealer I've checked online around the country, it seems they all cost 68,100.00, and have mb tex.

Thanks for the follow up. I called a huge dealer in the Philadelphia, PA market that owns three dealerships (they move lots of product for MB) and they're still waiting for some demo's. Go figure.

Rub it in, there aren’t any Demos yet within a 1000 miles of me. As messed up as the Mercedes Tech reporting seems to be Joe and Greg could have theirs shipped. You could be driving before some of us even see a Demo, not likely but hey why not dream. It wouldn’t be unusual for factory production Notices to lag a week or more behind actual.
Beth is it possible that your friend bought a preconfigured vehicle rather than a special order? It just seems odd that one persons order arrived a month or so ahead of all the others.
Edit- Sorry I see you answered while I was typing.

Just texted a dealer in Reading and they got two preconfigured GLE 350's yesterday that are both for sale (not demo's) so some are indeed being shipped to some dealerships.

Espresso Brown looks good there - is the photo how it looked IRL?

So, Premium in the DOG was $1,850. Now Burmester is pulled out so we have $1,000 Premium + $400 Burmester = $1,400. Is that right, cost has gone down?

It probably was preconfigured, I almost asked to be in line for one of theirs back in november when we first talked about it, but really wanted it to be just right. And seriously, I have totally changed my mind since being on here, going and looking at the demo yesterday, and peeking at the other one today.

On another note, Mercedesbenzofeaston has a selenite gray with amg exterior and the metal weave trim. Just beautiful.

The salesman texted me those pics but I plan to see the Espresso in person tomorrow.

As for the cost of the Premium + Burmester, the window sticker above still has them at $1,000 and $850 respectively.

Let us know Joe. My order is the same interior. My truck is similar and looks good. Normally I like complimentary vs contrasting colors in darker shades. Black is always nice but after a lot of black want something different.

I hope to get over there tomorrow but we have snow heading our way overnight so it may be Monday if not tomorrow. Also, I would expect real leather to look a little better than MB-Tex so if this looks good, the leather seats coming in our GLE should be fine.

I test drove a $90,000 2019 X5 last week. I liked it a lot but a few things didn't work properly during our test drive. The X5 is beautiful inside and out but the tech gave me pause so when I got home I began searching for what current owners (like yourself) were saying. I found numerous pages of complaints about glitches and bugs with the new tech. A car must be much more than just good looking with fancy tech. It has to function as expected, without glitches. I'm guessing you experienced some of those same glitches and bugs. Hopefully the GLE has been carefully tested and is ready for primetime with little to no glitches. Did you trade your X5 on the GLE?

By the way, the BMW dealer called me yesterday to follow up (very nice guy) and said he sold that X5. I hope the new owner tested it and knows what he bought.

I like that espresso interior (from earlier pic); too bad they don't do an espresso headliner to match. I know some would think that it would be too dark, but I like the "cavey" feel. Hence, my black interior with black headliner.

My dealer just said he got confirmed that the gloss grey linden H18 does have piano black console. I know some like the piano black, but I'd like all my interior trim to match. Glad I switched to the walnut. Wondering if I should have gone with the natural grey oak, tho.........If walnut would be too contrast-y with the solid black interior.

Or the Metal Weave would blend but still show some contrast. It's the price we pay for ordering before the actual car arrives because pictures don't always look the same.

Are you not getting the Panorama? Walnut should be fine with black, IMO. I have brown ash with black in my '12:
