The dealer gets reimbursed for the MBCA discount, but that's still the smart way to do it.

Silverstone Metallic is one of the best M colors. That road looks like it's such a thrill to drive!

I was offered the following discount today on a new 2020 GLE 350. List: $61,130, discount $3,500. Total less tax: $57,630.

Good deal? I wasn’t planning on buying a new vehicle but I drove by the dealer this afternoon and took a look. Told the guy didn’t have any time for any BS make me a great deal if I like it I’ll come back tomorrow buy it.

Let me know guys. Going to head there in the morning. I’ll let the wife know when I pull in the garage with it!

That’s almost 6%....not far from about 7%, the best reported that I remember.

Good deal, as long as it's equipped the way you want.

Hard to bargain

My dealer in ATX is offering only 500$ from my employee fleet benefits. Although I have been waiting for my GLE 450 fully speced with MSRP ~85k for about 6months, he basically said, the demand is too high and although he can give a good deal of discount, he won't because he can sell it to someone else in a couple of days without any discount. So, I think it's hard to get a discount however little.

Taking into account the equity they gave me on my GLC43 and dealer discount I got 12.3%, can get over 10% for financed factory order in UK.

In the UK you can get up to nearly 15% discount if you buy your car through an "agent" like AutoeBid (this is a guy who buys a car on your behalf (on your name and on your account) which means that he does not buy it and resell it to you, this is just an intermediary).

Why such a high discount? Because he helps you buy your car through the fleet departement of the dealership.

You can get up to 10% if you buy your car through a sort of auction vis-ŕ-vis your dealership (like Carwow): you tell what you want and you receive the best quotations from the dealers across the UK.

Interesting since GLE sales in April were down 37% vs April 2018. It could be regional too, I guess. I'd probably call his bluff and say I'll go get an X5, which offers better discounts.

Dont be be afraid to reach out to dealers out of state. There are still dealers out there willing to cut you a deal. Even if you have to ship the car home, you’ll still be saving more in the long run.

Yeah. True. The only issue is Mercedes has apparently slowed down on orders with the packages I ordered. And I already have waited 6 months for this. If it were a matter of another 2 months, I don't mind, but there is no fixed timeframe.

When I haggled mine we got it down to about 5% off MSRP. Which in the end didn't matter at all because I ended up getting a control number and a12.25% employee discount.
Best approach is to take your final offer and bring it to another dealer nearby and ask them to beat it. Then take the new, hopefully lower offer and go to a third dealer.
Rinse and repeat until you went through all local dealers.

Which packages are slowing down orders now?

I got 10 percent off an of MSRP of $77,530 for a well-equipped GLE 450 (or at least that's the deal we have agreed upon. The car has not yet arrived. I ordered it in March). Another nearby dealership also offered 10 percent off MSRP. These were in New England. We'll see what they do on the trade-in before I get too excited about it.

You’re living in the states and got ten percent off? That’s one helluva deal, assuming you can wait for one to come in.

I am in SoCal and I got 10% off as well. It's not very hard especially if you are ordering one.

Car sales numbers in 2019 are in the dumps, and buyers should have quite a bit of leverage. I expect to get 8 to 10% off msrp on a highly optioned model. Just wait til later in the year and you’ll have even more bargaining power.

Yeah, this was actually one of the easier car negotiations I've gone through. When I spoke with the other dealer, I asked if they had any flexibility on price, expecting him to say no because the car is so new and desirable. He said, "The best I can do is 10 percent off MSRP." I pushed back, but he wouldn't budge further. Next dealer I spoke with, we discussed the build and he said the car was $77,530. He knew we had originally been looking to spend closer to $60K. I asked him what he was thinking on price and he said, "I can offer 10 percent off MSRP, no more." I said let's do it. I kind of thought I wasn't getting a great deal considering how easily I got the 10 percent off, until I read this thread. I assumed it was an MBUSA standard.

Does anyone know if MB keeps a constant markup on MSRP across different countries (interested in Canada), as it will have a significant impact on the discount that will be given. My preliminary discussions on a 2020 GLE amounted to retail PLUS dealership specific “inclusions”. Dealerships up here aren’t interested in discounting when they can get MSRP ++ for the models they can get. I was very interested in moving to the 2020 off our 2014 ML but the supply squeeze and dealership attitudes have me waiting to see when Canada will get the GLE 580s.

We got 5% of on ordering our E53 Coupe before the webpage even had it listed with no back and forth. First time Merc buyer at a smaller regional dealer too. Our hometown dealers wouldn't budge. I expect the same when time comes to look at the GLE53.

My lease is coming up in a few months and am doing the pull forward lease and I am in the process of ordering a 2020 gle 450 with an MSRP of $81k and I have already gotten 8% off of MSRP. I see some people have gotten 10% off. Should I try for 10% before I complete the deal? How many of you have gotten more than 8% off MSRP? Thanks for everyone’s help!

Yes, you should try for the 10 percent. The absolute worst thing that happens is you still get your 8 percent. Remember, they're in the business of selling cars. They've already given you 8 percent. If you ask for 10 and they say no, they aren't going to reverse course and say, "Now it's 6 percent." The only person who is going to walk away from a deal is you. And, from what it sounds like on this forum, 8 percent is still a damn fine deal. So give 10 percent a shot. If they say no, take your 8 percent and enjoy the car!

Hi! Do you mind sharing your deal/dealer/Salesperson information? I am looking to buy 2020 GLE 450 and so far able to get only 6% discount plus $500.

Thanks in advance!
