I am one of those who jumped ship recently. The wife really wanted the GLE but with supply issues, we decided to move on. I have had such a great experience with my Audi sedan and the service center nearest me that we bought a 2019 Q7, fully loaded that includes some features that our GLE order did not have. A dealer swap was required for one in port that had everything we wanted and we are picking it up today. We got the 3.0T, which is supercharged (last year for that) and the mileage is rated 21 combined, just like the GLE 450. Here is an exterior photo of our color and trim, though not our vehicle.

The production delay that we are experiencing with the GLE. Is this normal and expected for a custom build? This is my first time ordering a custom build GLE, or, a Mercedes, if you will so am just curious. I'm in no rush but at the same time, ordering end of April, and not expected to take delivery until September (if I'm lucky) is a rather long wait.

Tery, I think you are one of the few people I've seen on this forum who has E-ABC and a lower PO than I have: 0071759660. I've spoken several times to an "Executive Referral Manager". He knows less than anyone who has followed Greg's postings on this list. Not his fault.
Senior MBUSA management has buried this disaster. Makes one wonder where the dozens of reviewers are who had an opportunity to drive a 2020 GLE 450W4
with E-ABC. Aren't they curious where all these 'game-changing' SUVs are??

its to a point now I will wait and see what other excuse they can tell me next month. And when the car finally show up if there is any missing option it will be even more funny to see what they can say. Good job MB treating customer this way. So ironically MB Canada kept posting GLE stuff on instagram, don’t they know there are customers pissed off about this issue.

I have E-ABC but a little higher order number. Was told finish production on June 5. I highly doubt. Who knows. I've pretty much thrown in the towel and am looking at competition again. If I find something before GLE arrives, bye MB, and frankly good riddance. My concern now is that if something breaks or is not functioning correctly early on, will anyone know how to repair, or will repair parts even be available? Again, who knows.

I have been told that just an Airmatic failure (for example replacing springs) costs about 2000 (I let you put the currency you want).
So I let you imagine what an E-ABC failure will cost...
I'm so happy not have Airmatic or E-ABC on my order. Good job MB UK! In France, all models (300d, 350d, 400d and 450) include Airmatic in the basic price.

We ordered on 3/9 and were told to expect delivery in early June. Just heard from the dealer today and looks like that's still the schedule:

Also to be mentioned that the width of the GLE is not same depending on the springs: 1,947 mm with steel springs and 2,022 with Airmatic and/or E-ABC.
I also found something interesting about fuel consumption (found on the belgian M webste). It happens to be that, for the same engine, the fuel consumption vary depending on the options and the wheels:
NB: I let millimeters and liter / 100 kilometers, I'm sure that those interested will be able to do the conversion. And also find the option/wheels codes. If not, please shout

Just placed an order for a 450 and since its Saturday, I imagine we won't get much ETA info till mid of next week. Still, the deposit is in and the waiting game has begun!

Thanks! Considering that I have a KIA now, the jump is pretty high. The KIA though is pretty nice, not bashing my current car... its just that its not a Mercedes
How do you guys go about tracking your order?

Greg might chime in he has posted a picture on the main thread showing info available to your dealer. At some point it will show some projected dates that may be getting more accurate than in the past.

Status Check
I checked the status of my GLE 450 E-ABC order yesterday. Nothing has changed from 2 weeks ago. Estimated production date is still 6/3/2019 with a status of B3 and no VIN assigned. My SA says that the VIN may not be assigned until 2 weeks before the production date. I placed the order on January 29.
By the way, my order number is 7041xxxx so I'm not sure this number means anything.

delays
You know what worries me is (after ordering twice, having cars supposedly coming with stuff we wanted left off, placing two orders again now for august), is that looking at dealerships all across the country, there isn't much inventory for sale out there. My local dealer doesn't even have a demo now. Lots of the 2020's for sale that you do find are all low optioned. Is it too much to hope that they are going to start cranking them out soon?

Actually the dealer I ordered with (one of the largest in NYC) sold their showroom floor unit, it was gone when I went there yesterday.
