Third row seats

I've been searching for a GLE450 and found one almost on production that is pretty close to my configuration, except that it has the third row seats.

Cost aside, what is the impact of having the seats installed but not used? Do you lose storage space in the rear?

You would receive a suv with runflat tires, and no ability to have a spare as the seats take up that space.

Actually you can get more Cargo space since with that package, you get power adjustable 2nd row..

Cargo space is about the same if you fold the seats flat. I wanted 3rd row seats but now a bit regret. They are too small. Fortunately it doesn’t cost much else other than money so you can ignore it if you don’t need them.

Ugh, runflats are not desirable for me. Thanks for the responses.

.
I believe you only get runflats with 20" tires. If you get the 21" tires with 3rd row package, then they are not runflats. Instead, the car comes with the "TireFit" kit which you can use to seal small punctures.

Used the Third Row Today

We had all four of our grandchildren in the car today, ages 4,5,7 and 8. All four are in “booster” seats - so no need to lock the seats in, only regular seat belts. The older kids clambered into the last row no problem. I checked their belts by opening the rear hatch and looking over the seat. The two younger ones rode in the middle row outboard.

The center row tilt function is slow and there is the need to move the seat back separately. The booster seats were small enough that they allowed the middle seat to tilt forward for access without restriction.

One trip and we are happy with the option and its compromises.
