Does GLE450 engine have supercharger?
I read an article few months ago about the new Mercedes inline-6 engines. It mentioned that in addition to the turbocharger, these engines also have an electrically-powered supercharger, which powers up in nanoseconds to fill in any lag while the turbocharger spools up. I don't find any mention of this on the mbusa site nor on the DOG.
Do these engines have a true supercharger, which compresses intake air, just like a turbocharger? Or was the writer confused about the EQ-Boost feature?

EQ Boost uses an integrated starter generator, mounted between the engine and the transmission, that combines a starter motor, an alternator, and an electric motor. It serves several functions:
