im building my wife a pretty optioned out GLE 450. I didn’t get the e active body since she won’t be using that feature at all. Regarding the upgraded sound system, do you think it’s worth it over the one that comes in the premium 1 package. I had it in my s63 loved it.

 

I would try and visit the dealer and see if they have two GLEs with those options for you to compare. Sound quality and value is such a subjective thing. I think the Burmester 3D audio upgrade sounds pretty darn nice but not worth the extra cost over the included Burmester sound system.

 

I wouldn't pay for the 3D its absurdly overpriced imo

 

When I first listened to mine (included Burmester, not the 3D), I thought the sound was terrible. Once I adjusted the "equalizer" to my preferences, I think the sound is amazing. I have a pretty good ear too. I turned the bass almost all the way down and turned the mids up. Might want to try that so you give the standard Burmester a fair shake.

 

I’m trying to find both systems to test them out. In the S class I find it worth the extra cost. Glad to hear you’re happy with the current radio with changing some settings.

 

The 3D Burmester is available - I believe you sacrifice your spare tire and move to run flats.... upgraded "master-blaster" in a S-Class will still be much more enjoyable than the "master-blaster" in SUV..

 

Good luck finding the 3D option in stock. The big drawback, IMO, to that is you have to forgo the AMG Line Exterior.

 

Not getting rid of the amg exterior. That’s my wife’s favorite part of the exterior.
