Towing Speed Limit 62 MPH
Has anyone towed a trailer or carried a heavy load in the rear at speeds over 62 MPH yet? Is the speed restricted while loaded? The operators manual on pages 269-270 states;
In the event of increased rear axle load, the vehicle/trailer combination may not exceed a maximum speed of 62 mph (100 km/h) for reasons concerning the operating permit. This also applies in countries in which the permissible maximum speed for vehicle/trailer combinations is above 62 mph (100 km/h).
What is the reason for this restriction?

Thank you Greg. I cut and paste from the manual which included the top of page heading".Driving and Parking. I will edit my post to remove that.
