Just picked up my GLE 2020 exclusive up a week ago and am a little overwhelmed with all the options and accessories. One question I have (and excuse my ignorance) is the engine shutoff economy mode an option that can be turned off ?

You can deactivate it at your ignition switch but you have to do it each time you start your vehicle. I know that the "surge" of the start/stop is annoying but I have gotten use to it after 6 months. It does drive other people crazy when they get into my vehicle though!!

When the car is coasting and the engine engages and disengages, it is silky smooth. Yet when the car turns on and off at a stop, it shutters. It’s so weird.

Agreed. It’s imperceptible in my 450. In fact, I have repeatedly forgotten to turn off my car when exiting because you can’t “feel” the engine running and I didn’t notice it stop when the vehicle stopped rolling.

Or by programming individual mode and selecting that each time. I prefer that option because I can tune other setting in one flick of a switch.

it's so annoying how they can't set it as default to the last setting. even my adobe and microsoft office can do that to my documents!

Found the switch next to the starter button to disable the engine stop / go function, that makes it easier. I'm getting used to the function now so I'm not as aware it's happening.
