mercedes me connect and smart assistants
allegedly one can pair the mercedes me connect app with google assistant and alexa for smart home purposes. meaning arrival opens your garage door and departure does the same. as well as executing scenes or smart apps to coincide with arrival and departure. and starting your engine using voice commands? any success stories here?

No such luck for me, but I'm hoping to hear good news.
It's honestly surprising that every automaker out there doesn't have some exclusive deal to incorporate Alexa, Google Assistant or Apple HomeKit. Realistically, there's no reason for MB to create its own voice-activated assistant when it could have just incorporated one of the big three, and provided seamless integration into people's smart home devices.
I'd have been perfectly happy to tell Alexa to turn on the seat massage in my 450, close the sunroof and turn on the lights at my house for when I get home.

I initially had my mercedes me connected with my nest, so it would set home/away when i was within a certain radius. Once i migrated my nest account to google nest, the integration stopped - and Mercedes confirmed they are pulling the service (no intention of supporting "works with google nest").
I believe you can have alexa learn a mercedes me skill, but I dont believe it does any location based automation. You can only do simple things like turn on the car, lock the doors, etc.

Tried to connect my mercedes ME app with Google Assistant, but do I understand correctly this is yet another services that is rejected by MB (or Google?)???
4 years ago, I had a state of the art online COMAND system (NTG 5*2) with bluetooth tethering, email, webbrowsing, etc, etc., that all is not possible anymore on newer cars with NTG 5*5 (and NTG 6 or 7? or does this all work there?).
