Rear Window Washer
I tried to wash my rear window today and noticed it didn’t work. I’m assuming since the front washer does work there is ample fluid in tank. Anyone else have this issue?

Are you pressing the correct button (the left one of the two)? Should work. Hope you don't have a problem with your washer line that runs above the headliner like RamAir50 had: https://mbworld.org/forums/gle-class...ml#post7870885.

Is this the first time you’ve used it? I found that for my first time I had to hold the button down a bit to prime the tubing before fluid came out.

OMG - if this is the solution, I will live with the problem before I agree to dismantling half the car! That is crazy. Thanks for sharing that link. I will be very clear to my service advisor I don’t want that remedy.

Also tapping the button doesn’t work. You have to press the button beyond the “point of resistance” and hold it for the fluid to come out.

Tapping the button = Single sweep
Holding it down = Spray + Several sweeps

If you hold it down and no spraying occurs, despite the sweeping, AND you are able to spray your front wipers, it is because you are running low on fluid. The system prevents you from wasting it on rear visibility when forward visibility is crucial.

You need to press the left hand button pretty hard to make it spray the rear window. I actually think the switch in mine is faulty, because even when pressed hard, the pump and spray is somewhat intermittent at best...

I brief tap will perform a single wipe (similar to the front windshield wipers). If you hold it you should see the fluid spray with the wiping action.
