2020 GLE580 on order

I had intentions of acquiring a 2016 facelifted W166 but it never came to fruition even though I am not exactly sure why I never bit the bullet. Within the past month are so I decided it might be time to revisit the idea again as I came across all the original paper work from the day I took delivery of my 2007 ML350. Other than preventative maintenance and a new thermostat I have had 0 issues or mechanical problems. Thats 13 years and 84,0000 miles as of 2/4/07. For the most part many people are shocked to find out the car is as old as it is, most assume it to be a newer car and if anything a year or two old. I believe this is due to a timeless design and caring for my vehicles. At this time I think I plan on holding on to the car as a spare for times it may needed in my household. It will also be a winter car for my mom since drives a MB cabriolet with low pros. The tire and wheel package has has paid for itself many times over with the roads in the tristate area lol. I have always loved Mercedes from the day my dad bought his first one. Even though learning to drive on a S class was a challenge when my moms car was so much smaller. I attribute being able to squeeze any vehicle into any tight spot or space is a direct attribute. I also felt like a king back than 23 years ago on Friday and Saturday nights riding around in that S class. My friends were jealous and the girls loved me. Sorry for the digression but even with that being said I wouldn't call myself brand loyal to the point where I wouldn't consider another luxury brand. I have many reason why I do love the brand its products however I went into this with an open mind and clean slate. My first decision was whether I wanted a car or another truck being that I never owned a car. That was quickly put to bed after my first day of visiting a few locations. That led me to considering the GLE, X5, Q, or LR Sport. In the end and with my girl at her wits end since she hates car shopping as you could tell by the above title I went with the GLE placing an order for a 580. I felt that that 350 and 450 are underpowered being that I am always behind the wheel of a ford with an ATS Scorpion turbo swap, bigger injectors, fass fueling system and cp4 pump upgrade. Its just weird how things come full circle or repeat themselves. It was October 2006 when I was in the dealer looking to purchase a Mercedes when I learned that the new W164 M class was bigger in all dimensions than the outgoing W163 and now the new V167 is bigger in all dimensions than the outgoing W166. I am optimistically expecting a May delivery to New Jersey
