I plugged in my battery tender last night even though it probably didn't need it and after charging for about two hours I received an alert from the Me app that the battery was critical? I then I had to manually unlocking the door by pressing the unlock button then had to push the start button several times to get it to start? I left the charger on over night the charger indicated more charging was needed but the app now says battery charged? I know there was a recent over the air update has anyone experienced similar symptoms?
I had a long visit today with the Concierge/delivery manager at my dealership here on Long Island going over several issues. I asked him about using my battery tender while I'm away for one or two weeks. He suggested that I remotely start the GLE from out-of-town and let it run the full 10 minutes, and do that once or twice each week. Interesting suggestion.

Does anyone use a battery tender? With the Corona situation and my wife being pregnant we are not going out much. My wife's GLE isn't being used at all.
Should I plug it in with my Porsche 12V battery tender which looks the same as the CTEK one that Mercedes also sells?
Sorry for the brief reply earlier. I have the same Porsche charger. I only tested it briefly for a few minutes and it worked. I didn’t leave it to charge for an extended period of time but it should work.

yes CTEK and Granite digital 25 watt both work with AGM batteries and are fully “Automatic”

would not occasionally start a vehicle without using it. I am using Granite Digitals on my E300 and my Duramax 3500 both are not being used due to the recent conditions. Also use them on my show cars which are not being used either. Don’t have to worry about putting the wrong charger on wrong battery. Also CTEK use the same technology. The GLE is my only driver so the battery is staying charged.

I haven’t used a tender but started getting that message every time my car was parked a few days without driving. After a few weeks of the same, the dealer diagnosed it as a defective battery. They replaced the battery and some other glitches went away.
