2020 GLE 450, Emerald Green, Dark Package with 21inch wheels.
After few days of delay, my sales got back to me finally. The GLE450 has one turbo only, no electric booster . The sales apologize and agree to give me a AMG jacket for compensation. Being said, the GLE53 will have more potential for bigger HP and torque. If you have the guts, you can go for a custom tune and it is more concise in controlling all aspects of the engine if they know what they are doing.

Finally, regardless what you do, only pay after you verify your modes with a DYNO run. Many ECU tunes don't actually do much except Pop and Bang that you get.

If anyone here wants a ECU tune I highly recommend Eurocharged. I had all my car tuned by them and all noticeable hp gained. My GLE43 made so much more power if I floor it, it will not shift from 2nd to 3rd. And on wet condition I can spin all 4 wheel till 2nd gear. I guess renntech and Weistec will also provide same reliable tune.

Here’s the first ECU tune for the 53 that I’ve seen. It’s by Renntech & seems a little spendy (close to $3k) compared to similar power from a chip tune. It would obviously be better but many might go for a Chip because of price. On the other hand a chip might not get that much power & it does look like the power is linear vs a Chip can be less so. Do these tunes come with a programmer so that you can switch back to stock or do they program your ECU? The one thing I like about a Chip tune is the ease at putting it back to stock with no trace.

Renntech noted that Mercedes actual HP & Torque are slightly higher than stated.

RENNtech ECU+ Upgrade | W213 | E 53 AMG EQ Boost | 485HP / 456LB-FT | 3.0L I6 Turbo EQ Boost | M256 | MY2019+

ECU+ Upgrade | Up to 485 HP / 456 LB-FT | Gains: +49 HP & +46 LB-FT
SKU: ECU:54.213W.E53

The more I drive the 53 the more I think I will leave it stock. The i think just like what Renntech posted, it definitely make a bit more power than OEM rated. I am close to 3k km mileage can’t wait to floor it.

I just got a racechip to play with on my E53. The torx screw just below the lower circled connector I can’t break free to remove the assembly setting on top of those two connectors. Anyone have an advise? Do I just need to crank down on it (to the left) harder or is there a trick I’m missing? Normally I work on medical equipment, not cars.

Just a thought but you might apply a little heat and try again. Aluminum can gall easily...maybe apply some lubricant reinstalling. Maybe someone that has done it can provide more help.
Please let us know how it works for you. I’ve been thinking about one for my GLE but want to get some feedback from users first. I also asked RaceChip USA some questions about the Warranty, Program Modes and for a Dyno chart but after several days no answer. Hasn’t left me with a feeling of confidence dealing with them. They have a nice page of sales and marketing info but no real details. They claim “up to $10k engine warranty one place and $5k another but no terms and conditions.

You thinking more heat than a 40 mile drive? The car gets pretty hot... which, was my thought today. Hoping that would loosen it up. But no go still.

If you got a GLE43, I have a Dinan chip for sale!

Also, Emerald Coast Motor is the Racechip reseller in the states. They have been helpful. But as for Racehip, they have sucked in support. Emailed them and Facebook messaged them. Even later emailed in German. Still no reply.

I have used a small Impact Driver on Aluminum RV Motors with good success. You can tap on them with increasing force to reduce the chance of breaking off the bolt.
Heres an example of one....

I don't think the torx screw comes off completely, it will still be attached to the air intake box I believe.

So what happened?

You can try to email them here ...

Gle 450 4matic chrysler 300c
Hi there,
I have the GLE 450 4-matic in Sweden.
On the instrumentpanel I can see the motor go up to torque 500.
But what shall I do to see that extra 250 torque (the EQ-boosteffect).
I can see the green charging effect when slowing down, but I should like to verify that the EQ-boost is functioning. Is that possible.
with regards,
John
