Radio Volume

Hey guys. am i the only that thinks that the lowest volume setting is too intrusive? I brought it up at the dealership and they said that there is nothing that they could possibly do. Supposedly it is normal for a Mercedes. It is so damn annoying, any advice?

A gaggle of MB's
A couple of things you can "try" that might help in the MediaMBUX menu - and from the start I don't know if you have standard or Burmester - and if your Dealer did not go thru this with you then shame on them

Standard
1. Media - Sound - Balance/Fader - move focus back to rear - that will take your existing sound profile from front - and move it back where it will be less instrusive

2. Media -Sound - Volume - Automatic Adjustment - radio channels are all different intensities between each other - this "might" take channel you listen too and level down a bit - and might not change it at all - might bring it up a bit - you will have to see ... this will also level out between different different Media sources

Burmester a bit different - Media - Burmester - then Balance and Fader or Volume to Automatic Adjustment or Sound Profiles - see in each if there might be a little help for you.

I find the first sound level to be to loud as well.
But then again, I remember a poster I had in my bedroom as a teenager:

i’m very happy with the Burmeister in mine — it has excellent bass response which I like. On the GLEs the bass speakers are built into the firewall. Try turning the bass down, that will get rid of the booming and make it less loud.

Hello, thank you!! I will definitely try it. I have the entry level Burmester sound. Not the high end that is worth several thousands.

I have the Burmester (Order Coder 810) Surround System. My "Entertainment Volume" display shows a series of green bars. Each increase or decrease in volume is represented by a change of three bars. When I turn my volume down to the lowest setting (three bars showing), I can just hear the audio with the vehicle sitting still. In motion, if there is any wind or road noise, I am unable to to make out what is playing. I just ran this test using satellite radio as my source. I did not try other sources to see if that made a difference.

I can assure you that sleeping toddlers will wake up with the radio's lowest volume possible selected. Ask me how I know.

hahaha you are supposed to get them used to the noise since the day that they are born. Otherwise they are too sensitive with noises.

I know, but these cars are so quiet on the inside, it's not as noisy as an airplane cabin.

There has to be some difference in our systems. In mine, the audio would be completely blanked by a quiet conversation. I am talking the kind of conversation that my wife and I would have when our grandson is sleeping in his car seat in the back of our Lexus. I see that you have a 450. I have a 350. Don't know why that would make a difference but who knows!!!!

I have come to learn that it really differs based on the input source. When streaming via Bluetooth, its fine. XM is okay, and TuneIn is loud.
