A Welcome Defect

We’ve had our 350 for only about ten days. The stop-start has stopped working. All by itself. Don’t know why. Hoping it lasts.

This place is a joke.

Usually this is caused by a weak main or auxillary battery. Check the VIN sticker in the driver's door jamb. You'll see the production date there. Your "new" GLE may be a year old already and one of the thousands that were parked outside since last year at an abandoned mall or empty dirt field in Alabama. The good news is your ECO stop doesn't work any more. The bad news is your battery(s) may be on their way out.

The vehicle was a special order (leather seats, no 4Matic, AMG Exterior) that was built last month and the date confirmed on the door jamb sticker.

That's good news then. There are many parameters that must be met for the eco stop to function. Another common cause for it not to work is high ambient temps with the A/C turned to a cold setting. Depending on where you live, you may see it start working again in more mild weather. Anyhow, good luck with your new GLE!

Frankly - if you are "refreshed" when Eco isn't happening - for $240 you can make ECO do what you want it to do.

Vladimir is the Top Notch Guy on this kindof stuff - and with my customer's who "hate ECO" this has been the way to go - 1000% legitimate:
