How Illuminating Star works on 2020 GLE
I was reading somewhere that star lights up only when unlocking the car and while opening the door. It won’t light up when you are driving the car. Is that True?
i was thinking it is somehow connected to headlight and turn on when head light is on. I was planning to get it installed but if it only lighting up during unlocking I won’t be wasting the money.

might be some confusion on 2 different features.
1. I believe that the projector light image of a star onto the ground only appears when unlocking and locking the car and when the door is open.
2. The illuminated star in the middle of the grill is on when the headlights are on.

However, if you have the driver’s assist package (adaptive cruise control) the lighted star is not compatible. I’ve seen the lighted star on other Mercedes at night on the interstate, they do look awesome, but I personally am not will to give up adaptive CC.
