I have a 2020 GLE 350 SUV, wonder if there's a way to upgrade navigation to display speed limits based on the roads you are driving. I recall at time of buying, 12 months ago, there was a $1000 package, including speed limits, but didn't want it then, now do. Seems like should be a navigation system software upgrade. Thoughts?

Not sure... I think the system uses a camera embedded behind the base of the center mirror. Do you have the augmented reality package (which I think also uses the same camera)? Otherwise your car may not have that extra camera and therefore it would be impossible for the system to detect speed limits.

I don't have a GLE....GLC 300d.2020 in Ireland .
The speed limit warnings are not solely based on cameras.
The navigation information is also used to display the speed limit.

That’s what I have also read elsewhere, but based on the times it incorrectly detects speeds (such as where parallel service roads have lower speed limits but the GPS still reports itself as driving down the main road), I’m not 100% sure...

To my knowledge, answer to your question is no. It likely requires different H/W and S/W. I have the Driver's assist package, it uses a camera read speed limit signs and display it on the drivers console and on the HUD. It you select the option, it will automatically adjust the speed to the posted speed limit when using cruise control.

You should have Apple Car Play, so an option available to you now is to just download and use the Waze App. It will display both your GPS determined speed, and the speed limit on the road you're on on the center console.

Thanks, we don't have the Augmented reality package so out of luck, will use Waze app on iPhone (via AirPlay)
