Not a big fan of the look, but I saw a lot of this when driving in Germany last December.

I find it interesting, though, that you chose to leave on that license plate frame with the Mercedes-Benz of Fort Myers name in humongous letters.

Yes! The first thing I do to any car I have is remove any dealership advertising!
A dealer I know used to have the service department put those things around clients tags when their car was in for service if they didn’t have anything on it already, without telling them. It happened to me................once.

Otherwise I think it looks pretty good. Especially on the white. Very clean!

Same here. Back in '05 when I bought the redesigned Mustang, I told the salesman I didn't want them to put dealer decal on the rear of the car. When it arrived, lo and behold the decal was on it. I told them to remove it and they said it would cost $150. I told them that if they wanted to advertise with me, I charge $1 per mile driven per year. The guy got a wry little smile on his face and said he'd take care of it. That dealership was awful. They tried to screw me at least four times during the transaction. Never been back.

I'm glad most dealerships have moved to using the license plate holder rather than defacing the vehicle with a decal.

The emblems removed were the 4MATIC and GLE350. There were never any dealership emblems.

I keep my dealer license holder as I have a home In Ohio and in Fort Myers and have met numerous people in Ohio that see the Fort Myers plate holder Or people in Florida who see the Ohio plates and strike up a conversation finding they live in the country club next door to ours or close and we become great friends.

I like the clean look but that plate frame ruins it. I run a very sleek and minimalist OEM plate frame see Amazon link below. It is also available in chrome.

Is it legal to have the state name on the plate covered? Seems like that could be an excuse to get pulled over if a cop were looking for one.

Well I’ve had that license plate cover since 1987 haven’t been pulled over yet I should go get a new one I’m just too lazy. We also go by color which they can easily see.

That would go well with the Night Pkg. Even cleaner is the clear plastic cover that has a quality look to it....if they are legal in your state. Unfortunately a license plate is not a fashionable addition to a vehicle but a cover or quality frame look better to me than a raw edge.

Yes I have the night package. I used to do the clear plastic cover too but got rid of it for two reasons - illegality, and also the fact that after a few months dirt gets trapped under the cover which required me to unscrew the plate to clean it.

Almost 3 years on my wife’s Audi & 14 months on the GLE & the plastic is clean and bright. It’s fairly easy to seal them. I have to remove them every two years for tags.

As much as I love my Mercedes dealership (Herb Chambers), having purchased several cars from them (including all services), I hate the cheap plastic frame. So I’ve replaced it with chrome (less audacious) frames on front and back .

I do love the carbon fiber frame—-really cool. I just think the chrome looks really nice with the CLS grille.
