Scraping when in reverse?

guys, have any of you encountered much scraping (bottom of vehicle, sounds like the middle part) when in reverse mode backing up? I've been noticing a bit more lately when I'm in reverse (leftward) backing up that is scraping the bottom of my vehicle (close to the bottom of the center console?). I've never had this on any SUVs before since the height is usually way above ground and I suspect any associated hardware is as well but am surprised that i'm hearing scraping sounds. I haven't figured out what is sraping at the bottom yet but just wanted to check whether anybody else has noticed this issue.

There shouldn't be any scraping sounds in a normally functioning vehicle

Is it when you first shift into reverse...or does it continue as you drive in reverse?

Are you sure it's not the brakes?

nothing on the brakes as i drive in normal course and don't hear scraping sounds. only when i back up and when there's a slight slope going uphill... i'm actually surprised because i thought all the hardware would be way above ground so even when i backup over a slope, it shouldn't even come close to the ground.

You don’t say how steep the slope but if it’s got a dip & very steep it could drag....never happened to me. So if it’s not ground clearance, it’s either something in the brakes or you have something dragging. Have you looked underneath? If you have air suspension you could try off-road mode with the vehicle higher to see if the sound disappears. Another idea would be to have someone get out and repeat to see if they can isolate where it’s coming from.
