In Car Office

I have been experiencing anomalies in the past 6 weeks : unread emails in my inbox are not showing on MBUX. I tried removing the connection of the account and reconnecting several times at times it works and at others it fails.

Anyone else uses In Car Office and had problems lately. To be honest the system is lousy but I don't know of any other way to check emails without touching the mobile whilst on the move.

End of the world problems.

I wouldn't expect any of this tech to work consistently, use your phone.

A gaggle of MB's
Places... I guess you travel to the UK and you're familiar with MB In-Car-Office ?

Those owner's that post questions and/or issues are asking for guidance/support from other owners that have genuine experience... un-experienced opinions are absolutely worthless to someone who has a legitimate question..

Can anyone help - how do I access this menu? I've already enabled office in the car (Office 365).

Cant you just take it to the dealer? You seem stressed, not worth it. its glitchy system with inconsistencies. Its not that important.

People post issues here expecting reports/support back from other member's who have had the same/similar issue - and frankly you don't know what you are talking about on this one.

Places - sometimes you are over eager to help on issues you have no experience about.

In several markets where where Car Office is available - customer relationships with their Mercedes dealer is quite different than here in the US.

In the UK - or HK, or several others - even to get scheduled with Dealer Service is a humbling event - and post-sale Dealer support on User Features in those areas is non-existent.

You're right. I have no experience but still can't help but wonder why make this such a big issue. Simply to read emails on your screen when you have a phone to do that? These cars have more tech than they can handle and when someone can't read their mails it's a major issue. The car is meant to b driven, not to turn into an office. As for the challenges related to scheduling with a dealer, why buy a car that you can't get serviced easily? This is no longer a luxury product then.

Not sure where you read that OP said this was a big issue unless you think posting a simple question on the forum is considered a big issue. He also said he wants to be able to read his email on the screen while driving, so using a phone is most likely not as great as being able to read it on the much bigger console screen.

How the car is being used is really none of your concern. If you just drive the car for it to be driven that is your prerogative, but not everybody buy a specific car for the same purpose.

I also know first hand post-sale support in some places like HK are non-existent as mentioned above and warranties are 2 years compared to 4 years in USA. Based on your logic nobody should buy any car at those places because its honestly not just MB but almost every brand does the same. You'd be surprised on the lack of help you get from the dealerships and corporate at some places.

I thank all for your support. Actually it is not a very big deal not to be able to access your inbox whilst driving HOWEVER after paying through the nose to buy the car and then purchase a service through Me Connect services, the least one would expect is to enjoy what is in the promise of sale.

The scope of putting a question through a forum like this is to try and obtain a better understanding of what is happening to others that are in the same subgroup (of having the same car in this case) and by no means I wanted to elicit simplistic comments such as to go to dealership when the problem is not related to hardware but to server access especially potentially brought up by authentication and security of email service providers such as Google.

Thanks again.

Well it is a forum, if you don't like opinions don't read them. Therefore my opinion is none of your concern. So you buy your cars to read your emails?

Moving on... I would be angry too if I paid for a service that did not work. Have you tried contacting Me Connect to speak with their tech advisors? They should have customer service. If they cannot help you fix the issue, demand to get your money back.

I’m not familiar with this software, but it sounds like the vehicle is accessing your email Server directly. If that is correct, then it’s likely a configuration setup issue. (Incoming/out going mail server, SSL port, etc.). You will need to know this info before contacting Me Connect customer service. You should be able to get it from your email service provider. Hope this is helpful.
