Hi!

Congrats on your car.

I haven't received mine yet but already ordered some minor mods and changes.
- Panamericana grill (No amg badge)
- Chrome delete on rear-list and exhaust
- 3-step detailing due to (very likely) bad paint jobb. Never saw so much 'orange skin' as new GLE's.
- Zvizzer coat
- Workshop will add media USB-C in centre console instead of ash-tray area (How insane is that placement?)
- 21" OEM Multi-spoke winter wheels.
- Low-built Skiguard touring skibox
- Swisswax Autobahn on all rims.
- Rubber mat-set for winter use
- Might do a stage 1 tune to get 36 hp/80nm
- Ipads and holders ready for kids in rear seat. (Much cheaper and better than Merc screens)

Looking for something to protect driver/passanger seat from kids kicking their dirty boots into the seats...

What are you looking into doing?

Only things I've done so far are to debadge the rear and do a custom front plate mount. Do you have the AMG styling exterior or interior?

Front plate mounting

Front plate mounting mod: https://mbworld.org/forums/gle-class...ml#post7795120. I think this looks better, and avoids interrupting the main feature elements of the front valance. Plate can also be removed and installed in seconds.

Whereas I adapted a 2019 mount, Sto'n'Sho now has a model specific for the 2020 GLE with AMG Exterior: https://stonsho.com/2020-mercedes-gl...ackage-sns268/

Thank goodness we don't have a front license plate in Pennsylvania!

I agree for SC too. I’m also thankful that the GLE is a very reliable car too.

Ecu tune

Anyone find anything yet on tuning the ECU ?
so far eurocharge in Orlando wants $1300 ,one guy told me stock is 245 and bumps up to 265 but I know it’s 255 stock so he wouldn’t feel like he’s ripping me off to only add 10HP. Waiting on DME tuning to see what they have for the 350 ,great company hopefully good news to come.the 450 gets 90hp on stage 1 and 120hp added on stage 2

Since taking delivery I will try to get around to making a post over the course of the holiday weekend. So far I've done four mods. The first mod I did was to hardwire my BlackVue 950 2 channel dash cam to the car along with a under dash kill switch. The next mod was to swap the standard foot pedals with the sport pedals The third mod was to unlock the full features of the ILS+ Multibeams via OBD port coding provided by Vladimir who happens to be a gentlemen to deal with. There is a another post on here dedicated to the led mod. The most recent mod I did today. I added the led logo projectors to all 4 doors. Each kit comes with 2 replacement assembles. A few MB models only come with wiring in the front doors however our GLE's come with the wire harness in all the doors which allows you to decide if you want the light for just the front doors or all four. It also comes with the added benefit of the the rear facing red illumination being 100 percent brighter as there is 2 diodes opposed to 1 that comes with the factory assembly. Part # is A 247 820 87 02. Price from dealer's parts counter was $174 per kit.

Can you share more details on these? Did you use a YouTube tutorial for installing the BlackVue, if yes, can you recommend it?

@btshep, thanks for posting your mods.

Can you post a pic of the MB logo projection from the rear doors? I actually thought the logo originated from the mirrors since it moves as the mirrors fold in.

Is the LED mod worthwhile and a good value? I have not sent Vlad a message yet, but am very interested in the best lights possible.

Thanks,
GHub

Can you explain exactly what additional features are activated in the LED headlights mod? I know some vehicles have cornering LED lights, I've never seen mine turn so I assume that's deactivated in North America. I am also considering this upgrade but I'm getting conflicting info on exactly what's included.

In Europe (and probably also in Asia) the 84 LEDs in the high beams can be activated/deactivated individually. When you travel with high beams on (on Auto) the system can detect the incoming cars and can deactivate only those LEDs that "hit" them. The same thing applies when traveling behind another car, the system will deactivate only the LEDs that cover the car in front of you. Also when you encounter traffic signs, it will reduce the intensity of the corresponding LEDs to reduce glare.
I assume these features are unlocked through the OBD.

100 percent correct, The full features of the system as mentioned above are now unlocked and fully functional on my GLE through programming via the OBD port

There is no tutorial, I just used a test light to find a wire that carries constant power even with the ignition switched off and added a little toggle switch hidden under the dash. The purpose of the switch is to turn off power to the camera and not drain the battery when I have the GLE parked in my garage for a few days as it is not my daily driver. I like having the flexibility of being able to have the camera run 24/7 or be totally off. Comes in handy when parked on the street, in a parking garage, or valeted.

You are correct, there are logos that originate from under the mirrors from the factory. However those logos only appear when you unlock the car with the key fob and the ignition is in the off position. If the engine is running and you open the door the logo does not illuminate at all. With the swapped out door lights the additional logos come on all the time any of the doors are opened no matter what. The ground illumination from the factory assembly that comes on the GLE is not very bright at all and barely illuminates the ground as it is only one small white diode. This also holds true for the rear facing illumination it is one rear facing red diode. The projector assembly's logo is tighter snd more focused on the ground than the washed out and single diode and the rear faction red is twice as bright since it is 2 red diodes. Its the best of both worlds; when walking up to the car and unlocking it or when opening any of the doors to get in or out with the motor on or off

They look really good, how do they work with the existing mirror based projectors? Will I have 2 logos showing when I open the door or do they activate only at different intervals?

You will have both if you initiate a key fob unlock and the ignition is off and you open the door. That is the only time the mirror projectors come on. They also time out after about 30 seconds. The door ones come on anytime the door is open truck running or not.

I have the projectors in the mirror and I can always see them protecting on the floor via the 360 camera when reversing.

Take a picture and share with us if yours does that. Mine do not do that or come back on if the car is running only on the car being unlocked until I start it than they turn off

Mine do the same also. They are pretty much on when I'm driving slow and the cameras are on. I find when I get to a certain speed the go off and if I slow again they come back on. They also stay on after I've parked and shut off the car, when I lock the car they stay on until the mirror folds then turn off. The door mounted ones would look odd if they come on with the mirror ones... I'm also not convinced they will look good from the rear doors, may be a bit much IMHO. To each his own I guess.
