TIRE PRESSURE

Hi to everybody,
I've looked for this information but didn't find it.
On my car I've 22" Wheels and in the fuel flap I read normal condition pressure is 2.0 bar (29 PSI) front and rear.. Full load 2,?? - 2,9..
In my experience 2.0 is very low. What do You think about it?

Ps. For Winter tires I've bought 20"x9,5 wheels with 275/45...

I use 2,5 bar for both.. What do You think about it?

Thanks a lot.

I don't know about 22s, but for my 21s the spec (fuel filler flap) is 31 psi (2.1 bar) for normal load and I run 32 and find it works fine. Rear only is 39 psi (2.7 bar) for full load. 2.5 bar all around for normal use will degrade ride and is not necessary, IMO.

Tirepressure is all about real load on tire, and maximum speed used( and wont go over for even a minute).
maximum load of a cartire is calculated for the reference-speed of 160kmph/99mph.
and for the reference-pressure of standard load 2.5bar/36 psi.
then there is an official system for higher speed and lower load then maxload, to determine the needed pressure.
its all to prevent the tire from overheating when driving the speed for wich it is calculated.

If now max speed is not high, and maxload of tire is with ilarge reserve, a low pressure is yustified. Will still give no overheating.

most likely the MB has tires, that have a large reserve, so the 2bar/29 psi is completely safe.

If you can produce the real axleweights( frobt and rear different) and your max speed, together with the tire-specification, I am able to calculate a safe highest pressure, with still acceptable comfort and gripp.
determining the weights on axles, bes axle-ends, is the most tricky part in it all.

Thanks a lot for the "very technical reply"!!
I use 2.5 on my experience.... But if You have this knowledge I trust in You...

Normally I drive at 140 Kmh sometimes 170 for few minutes and sometime over 200 but for short time.

Normal load is 2-3 persons....

Car Weight is a normal GLE 350d whith 22" 325/285 in summer and 20" all 275 in winter...

then for safety's sake we have to use 200kmph.
but I am not an MB driver, so cant produce Max permissable axleweights , sou have to give them.
also the tires 275/ ?? R 20 and if XL or standard load.
Also for the summer tyres, and different front and back .

You can be sure Mercedes' recommended tire pressures have been tested and are conservative for all normal conditions, including maximum speed.
