I’m looking to use a fuse tap. What type/size blade are the fuses in the gle 350? Would anyone have a diagram/use descriptions for the fuse box under the hood. The cover on mine doesn’t provide any info Much appreciated
The fuse diagram is located at the fuse box at the trunk area. There is a slot right next to it which contains the diagram for all the fuse location.
As for the size, I believe there are actually 2 sizes of fuses being used in the mercedes (maybe 3). You will need to look at the slot you are planning to tap into to determine which size of fuse tap to use.
Unfortunately not on mine, ugh. Could I trouble you to take a pic of yours....I mainly interested in what the fuses in the box under the hood control. Specifically, which fuse controls just the headlights as that is the one I’d like to tap off of...big thanks!
OMG....I just checked and sure enough it was “hidden” in the slot like you mentioned. Big kudos! How in the world did you find it....thanks again
I was using that fuse panel to wire up the battery pack for my dashcam. I have to remove those foam to run the wire and see that little paper in the slot

Wow! Awesome advice! I found the diagram folded up in that little slot too. It's sad that I had to find out here and my dealer couldn't tell me.
The following information comes with my car which is located in US, so yours could be different.
Here is the location of the booklet. It is very well hidden.
I believe the one you are looking for is external light, which is 110 and 133
And here is the fuse location within the fuse box.
Can you be specific as to where in the car the chart is located? I am brand new to MB and I am also trying to hardwire up a dash cam. Hoping to find a chart of the fuse box next to the glovebox. Car is a GLE 43 AMG. Thanks in advance

You want to look at the fuse box located at the trunk. When you have the tailgate open, it should be on the right side. There is a panel that you can remove, which shows the fuse panel.
The booklet location should be located toward the front of the car next to the panel (see pictures from previous post). It might be hidden under the foam.
So I looked again in the owners manual and the rear fuse box on this car (2019 GLE 43 AMG) is under the rear seat on the passenger side. Booklet was in there. Now I just gotta learn German :unamused:

My bad. I literally just found this forum right before I posted and am very new to MB (at least the technical aspect of them as I have never owned one before) so I had no idea.

Right rear. Note the document folded on the left edge. Lists all the fuses and what they correspond to:
Have you check to see if the empty slot (204, 205, 210) has the power wired up? 205 is for rear display and 210 is for the electronic toll collection and if they have the power, it might be good to power the radar detector but double check if it is switched power source first)

Thanks. I thought about that. I will check and post back.
Reviving an old thread here as the photos are excellent. Has anyone determined which is the best drivers side dash switched fuse to tap for hardwiring a radar detector?
I had limited time over the weekend (and no fuse taps on hand) and I checked all of the spare slots which were all non-switched unless I inadvertently skipped one.
Trunk panel has plenty of options for spare slots with switched power (I wired front and rear dash cams, plus back seat baby camera & monitor worry easily).

I could not find any either. Only option is using the rear panel but I have not had the time or energy to tackle this, so I’ve just been using the coiled cord straight into the dash-mounted accessory port (the cigarette lighter looking thingy).
Some day I’ll get around to running a wire to the rear…
@Neurobit , thanks for chiming in. I’m going to tap the heads up display slot this weekend and will report back with the results.
For anyone wondering, it’s pretty much confirmed that in the d/s dash fuse panel all of the spare slots are not switched.
I haven't check the one on passenger side fuse panel yet, but I know for the switched one in the trunk, it takes a while before power is disconnected. So make sure when you are trying to locate the switched fuse location (if there is one in the passenger side one), you have to keep it connected (with a test light?), close all doors and lock it, and wait for a few minutes.
