Auto High beam
Its been a few months since I took delivery of my new GLE 350 2020. Since the first day, I am trying to figure out how does Auto Highbeam in Headlight works. I tried to activate Auto High bean as per the manual but it does not work and I do not see "A" in the high beam light indicator. I have the LED headlight, premium package, augmented reality, and other packages.
Am I missing anything??

If you do have the upgraded headlights, then you need to put the light switch to the Auto position and switch on the highbeams. The highbeam symbol with the A in it will light up in the dash and if it doesn't detect any light sources ahead from oncoming traffic etc. it will turn on the highbeams and the symbol in the dash will turn blue. As soon as it detects oncoming traffic etc. it will start shortening the light beam to the point of completely turning them off, then on again if the coast is clear. The symbol in the dash will toggle between white and blue to indicate when they are on or off. If you turn the highbeams off then they stay off and if you don't have the light switch in Auto then the highbeams work like normal highbeams letting you turning them on/off manually.
In most other markets, the upgraded headlights won't have highbeams per se, instead they darken areas of oncoming traffic by turning on/off individual LEDs of the 80 LED matrix in the headlights. In the USA the algorithm simulates highbeams by turning on/off the upper rows of the LED matrix.
