AMG GLE Now with Leather Wheel Cover
So just something I noticed, it looks like they finally resolved a nitpick I had with the GLE AMG models. Before, you could only get the leather steering wheel cover if you bought a GLE 53 or GLE 63S coupe version. For some reason, the non-coupe versions all had plastic steering wheel covers, even when selecting the highest level exclusive leather package. It really made no sense that a GLE 53 coupe would have a nicer leather steering wheel cover, but a GLE 63S had a cheap plastic cover.
I'm not sure when the change was made, but the AMG GLE non-coupe models now in production have leather steering wheel covers as standard for the GLE 63S and with exclusive nappa leather trims on the GLE 53.
I actually ordered a GLE 63S many months ago. The dealership royally screwed up and omitted the night package. I refused delivery and had them re-order. As a happy accident, the new vehicle which will be produced in February, will have a leather steering wheel cover due to this running change they made.
For proof of this change, you can see the links below for 2 inventory vehicles from a dealership in Houston. Both have the same leather package, but you can see the steering wheels are different.
