Just got the new GLE53

Hello guys,

Picked up my GLE53 AMG the other day and have some questions...

1) How do I stop the passenger rear view mirror from dipping down to the curb every time it's in reverse?

2) I have the Rear Entertainment Package installed and both screens have Full HD cameras but there's no option to use them, wondering what are they for? Keen it see if I can view them in the front display to check on kids in the back?

3) The TV tuner isn't picking up any stations, I've googled a bit and noticed it needs a CI module card for scrambled signals and the slot in mine is empty. Could that be why?

4) Is there a way to stop the seat belt warning in the rear? We have baby seats and get the warning because there is weight on the seat but it's not clicked in as we use ISOFIX.

Thanks!
Rob.

Only one I know: 1) Select the driver side mirror with the switch on the armrest. Add you location to your profile, please.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new car!

It might help to mention which country you are in as some options (like the TV tuner) are not available in the US or other countries.

Greg answered one already; in regards to the child seat it appears to be a non-Mercedes one. I believe that child seats with an ACSE (Automatic Child Seat Recognition) responder turn that off, including airbag deployment if installed up front. There maybe aftermarket solutions. Check Ebay etc.

Only one I know too is #1 but I thought you had to put the car in reverse, set the mirror where you want it and then leave it alone. The next time you put it in reverse it will go to that new position.

That is correct, that is how you set it. But engaging it is by selecting the driver's side switch.

Can’t help much more but curious about the MBUX high and jealous of the TV receiver.

So I think MBUX high end 549 package provides extra features like internet in the car, command online, smartphone integration and Heads Up Display. It's hard finding out exactly what each package gives you with MB haha
