Hi Guys,

New member here. My wife and I are looking forward to purchasing our first MB ever. We set our eyes in the GLE 53 as the price is not much higher than the GLE 450 and we are getting good competing discounts from multiple dealers.

I would like to ask if anyone has the GLE without the Performance Exhaust? How does it sound? I like the crackle and pop but because our son is still young, we don't wanna scare him with that loud noise. I'm hoping that the regular exhaust that comes with the GLE 53 still has characteristics of an AMG but with lower volume?

Then how does it feel with driving in comfort mode? Is it too harsh? My wife likes the regular GLE 450 without the Air Suspension package. Wonder if the GLE 53 comfort mode is comparable?

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks

 

The 53 has a little more exhaust rumble than the 450...that’s about all I notice in normal driving, C mode. At higher R’s and in other modes it is more pronounced but not unpleasant IMO, it’s not going to scare anyone. I can’t compare the suspensions since I haven’t driven a non air GLE and I have the upgraded suspension in my 53, Active Ride Control.
