Consumer's Reports on 2021 GLE 450
I just read an article about the ratings Consumer's Reports has given this car.
Their ratings are accumulated from as far back as 2016-17 when the GLE was redesigned from the ML series. The issues they've accumulated was up to and including the 2020 models year. They have taken all the issues from these years and based their predicted reliability for the 2021 model on all these findings. Yes, there were some issues with the 2020 model being new but why involve all the past issues that probably don't even affect the 2021 model now? The article said this is the only material they use to evaluate the 2021 model? So, they give a reliability rating for the 2021 car based on 5 years of past models? They did say there were many owners who were in fact happy with this car.
Just my opinion, hopefully my analysis is a correct one.

I take any reviews good or bad, with a grain of salt. There are very subjective criteria as well as no very subjective criteria. We had a 2010 ML550 which is reported to be the most expensive SUV (at the time) to maintain. In the 8 years of ownership (to 110,000 miles) I replaced the battery, changed oil/filters, 2 sets of tires and the starter (that was a pain). So what does that tell you? Under warranty the real LED tail lights. To me, the owner can really make a difference on how the vehicle performs.
