DIY: GLE 450 Oil Change & Oil Level Indicator

I did to do my own oil change for my MB GLE 450. Ordered all OEM parts. Oil change was very straight forward and pretty simple and so was the cabin filters, etc...

The GLE 450 / M256 calls for 6.6 liters or 7 quarts of oil (so I thought) yet my Oil indicator is telling me to add 1 more quart of Oil.

I also had to add a little oil from my Service A that was done from the MB Dealer as well.. so I am wondering what is the exact amount of Oil for our GLE 450?

I doubled checked operating manual but it does not list the amount of oil capacity

that spec sheet says 8.5L, which is roughly 9 quarts. also, you should check how much you drained out of the car and replace at least that amount.

btw, which oil did you buy and from where?

They used 9 quarts on my first oil change at dealer for my 2020 GLE 450.

Appreciate the reply.

Since I live in FL and it's hot all year round I went with Mobil 1 Synthetic 5W-40 at my local Advance Auto Parts store.

The US 2021 GLE Owner's Manual shows that the GLE 450 4MATIC uses "about 9.0 US qt (8.5 liters)" of oil.
